One of our Notaries Public, Kyriaki Manika, a Greek native speaker, qualified Greek lawyer and solicitor heads up the Greek Legal Department at Notable Services. We are able to offer the following services:
Notarial and legalisation services
We can notarise any document in the Greek language such as powers of attorney, letters, contracts, affidavits, deeds, declarations, passports, identity cards, university degrees, marriage certificates, wills etc and we can further assist you with the legalisation of the documents by means of an ‘Apostille’ provided by the Foreign and Commonwealth office.
We can notarise any document relating to any Greek company such as board minutes, written resolutions, powers of attorney, certificates of incorporation, good standing, memorandum and articles of association etc for use in Greece.
We can also assist you with the drafting of any of the above documents in the Greek language.
Translation services
We provide an in house translation service from English, French, Italian, Spanish into the Greek language or/and we can arrange for documents to be translated from Greek into any of the above languages and many others with the assistance of experienced external translators.
We can notarise and legalise by means of an ‘Apostille’ translations of documents issued by public authorities, private entities and/or individuals.
Legal services
We can advise on Greek law related matters by providing you an overview of the relevant Greek legal framework in areas of law such as Greek employment law, property law, wills and probate law, company law, data protection and freedom of information law. Where more information or steps are needed, we can liaise on your behalf with the relevant Greek authorities, organisations, individuals, lawyers or notaries in Greece.
Please note that as some actions and stages can only take place in Greece, in such cases our role will be limited to:
- Advise on Greek law aspects
- Liaise with the competent authorities or professionals in Greece
- Inform you about their requirements
- Introduce or recommend trustworthy lawyers, estate agents and/or notaries
Sale and Purchase
With its amazing history, climate and beautiful islands many investors choose to invest in Greece. For investors looking to buy and sell property in Greece, we can assist both corporate and individual clients.
We can carry out searches (‘Eleghos Titlon’) at the Land Registries confirming that the seller is the legal owner of the property, the description of the property matches the one given, the property is or not free of charges and encumbrances; we can also draft, notarise and legalise by means of an ‘Apostille’ a power of attorney if you cannot travel to Greece, organise the signing of the title deed before a notary public in Greece – the transfer of the legal title is always done before a notary, assist you with the registration of your title at the Land Registry –if you are buying - to ensure that the transfer will be binding upon third parties besides the vendor and the buyer.
Establishing Greek companies
In Greece, the most common types of companies are the following:
- Limited By Shares Company called ‘Anonymi Etairia’, A.E.
- Limited Liability Company called ‘Etairia Periorismenis Eythinis’, E.P.E
We can advise you on the legal framework and the stages involved to set up a Greek Company. We can liaise with or introduce you to local lawyers who can assist you by attending various public authorities such as the Chamber of Commerce, Companies’ Registry, Competent Perfecture, Tax Authorities, Offices of Government Gazette and notaries for the purpose of completing the formation of a Greek company. We can draft, notarise and legalise by an ‘apostille’ a power of attorney if you cannot travel to Greece and we can also draft, notarise and legalise minutes of meetings in Greek.
